Neuromodulators (botox, dysport, nuceiva)

WHAT ARE DYNAMIC FACIAL LINES?

When your facial muscles such as those above and between the eyebrows contract, your skin moves along with them, forming creases until the muscles return to the resting position. These are called “dynamic” wrinkles or lines because they happen as a result of the way a person’s face moves. Over time, and after many repeated movements, those creases can deepen significantly. Combine that with the natural decrease of collagen as you age, and you have the perfect recipe for marked lines and wrinkles.

HOW DO neuromodulators WORK?

The most effective solution for getting rid of dynamic facial wrinkles, neuromodulator (botox) treatments are brief and simple, usually take no longer than 30 minutes. Treatment time is directly associated with the number of injections you are receiving in a given treatment area.

Botox type neuromodulators are made from botulinum A toxins and are injected directly into specific muscles to temporarily relax them. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and can reverse the appearance of aging skin giving you that youthful look you’re seeking.

The effects of your treatment will be noticeable anywhere from three days to two weeks following treatments, and results last anywhere from four to six* months. It is recommended to return for a follow up visit after 2 weeks in order to make small adjustments as necessary.

*Longer results periods are generally due to repeated procedures for a single treatment area.
